Washington, D.C. – ECPA Senior Fellow Roger Duncan, former General Manager at Austin Energy and a clean energy specialist, was in Brazil from April 22-25 to participate in a series of meetings and events around renewable energy and energy efficiency. During his visit in Porto Alegre, he offered a presentation at the 2nd Forum on Climate Change of Cities of Low Carbon entitled “The Case of Austin Energy”. Mr. Duncan focused on renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. He was also visited Sao Paulo, where he gave a talk at the Institute of Electrotechnics and Energy (IEE) of the University of Sao Paulo.
The Senior ECPA Fellows program is a network of high-level technical experts in the fields of climate change and energy who travel to the countries in the Western Hemisphere to consult with governments and other institutions. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Western Hemispheric Affairs and is administered by Partners of the Americas. There are currently 20 Senior ECPA Fellows who participate in these international exchanges. The program’s main areas of focus are: energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy infrastructure, energy poverty and access, sustainable forestry and land use, and climate change adaptation.
