Saint Lucia Hosts Caribbean Forum On Energy, Transportation & Resilience

Press Release: Saint Lucia is hosting to the Caribbean Forum on Energy, Transportation and Resilience scheduled for June 26-27, 2019.

The event is being organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ports, Energy and Labour of Saint Lucia in collaboration with the Organization of American States (OAS) under the umbrella of the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA), and the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

These discussions are expected to help develop a road map that will drive change and empower individuals, businesses and governments to capitalize on the synergies and opportunities for Sustainable Energy, Clean Transport and Resilience Building.

The forum will facilitate future investments in modern, resilient and sustainable energy and transportation infrastructure and pave the way for the development of sustainable and smart cities in the region.

The Forum will bring together key stakeholders in the field of energy and transport from the Caribbean including government agencies, electric utilities, financial institutions, development partners, donors, private sector, energy regulators , and multilaterals from across the Caribbean to build a blueprint for resilient energy and transportation infrastructure and to exchange ideas, best practices, and technologies.

A white paper will be developed based on the outcomes of the Forum for submission at the IV ECPA Ministerial to be convened in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 2020.
