Antigua and Barbuda’s government has launched a solar panel project at the Nelsons Dockyard Shirley Heights Lookout in Antigua.
The six-kilowatt photovoltaic power system is the product of a partnership with the Organization of American States, the European Union and the governments of the US and Germany, through the regional CREDP project.
The project will provide electrical power at the lookout, one of Antigua’s premier tourism entertainment centres.
The panels were funded with assistance from the OAS’ Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA).
They have been installed on the southerly slope of the Shirley Heights.
