[Workshop-Seminar] Closed Looped Cycle Production in the Americas: An innovative vision of productivity
As part of the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA), experts from the Department of Sustainable Development of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the National Center for Cleaner Production of Colombia (NCPC) will train entrepreneurs public officials and students from the cities of Medellin and Bogota in innovative production methodologies in closed loop and circular economy, intended to attract the interest of employers in this innovative business vision and productivity. Workshop–Seminar “Closed Looped Cycle Production in the Americas: An innovative vision of productivity“ will be held in Bogota on July 29, 2014 and in Medellin August 1, 2014, and is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism (MinCIT), the National cleaner Production Centre (NCPC) and the University of San Buenaventura.
This activity is part of the project “Development of Sustainable Production towards a Circular Economy in Colombia” under the framework of Closed Looped Cycle Production in the Americas (CLCP) funded by the Permanent Mission of the United States to the OAS, an initiative that aims to use renewable energy and energy efficiency, eliminating the use of toxic chemicals, and eliminate waste generation through intelligent design cycle of products and services, to improve the environmental performance and the productivity and competitiveness of enterprises including micro, small and medium (MSME) to facilitate the transition to a sustainable economy, competitive and circular.
The seminar–workshop will include the participation of qualified international experts on the subject and seek to introduce participants to different tools and methodologies that are part of the vision of the Closed Cycle Production. Additionally during this event a call for interested companies will be launched to participate in the “Pilot Program”, which consists of training and technical support by the experts to identify the potential for the company to close the Production Cycle of one of their products; CLCP team will advise companies in preparing proposals to apply funds available.
