The Porta Hotel Antigua
8a Calle Paniente No. 1, La Antigua, Guatemala
By invitation only
The workshop Improving Production and Use of Agricultural Biomass for Renewable Energy in the Americas will inaugurate a new program for regional partners to exchange information and promote collaboration on renewable energy, including advanced biofuels, from agricultural biomass. This new program will be administered by the United States Department of Agriculture with support from the United States Department of State.
The workshop will bring together participants from government, industry and other relevant organizations to discuss scientific issues, market analysis, policy options and ground-level experiences to develop renewable energy from agricultural biomass. The workshop participants will also jointly plan collaborative activities to promote best practices and technical innovations that could be applied or expanded to improve agricultural biomass production and usage for energy in the region. Representatives will be invited from Ecuador, Honduras, the United States, and Uruguay. Guatemala will host the international delegations and observe the event. Collaborative projects that are planned during this workshop will be implemented by the participants over the coming year.
