March 23 – 24 | Regional Workshop on Climate Change and the Electrification of Transportation

Within the framework of the Canada-Mexico Partnership, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and Mexico’s Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) are pleased to invite you to the upcoming Regional Workshop on Climate Change and the Electrification of Transportation.

This initiative is organized in collaboration with the Organization of American States’ (OAS) Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) and the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Latin America and the Caribbean Office.

The event aims to profile regional ambition in the development of net-zero transportation and encourage regional cooperation in the implementation of policies and measures, which support the electrification of road-transportation vehicles (i.e. cars and buses) – issue that becomes relevant in the fulfillment of regional commitments, which the Canada-Mexico Partnership is interested in promoting.

The workshop will bring together countries from the Americas to share best practices and lessons learned on mitigating the impacts of climate change through net-zero transportation, as well as to discuss the opportunities and mechanisms in the region to finance the electrification of transportation.

This event will be taking place virtually through the Zoom platform on March 23-24, 2022,
from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (EST)
on both days.

Simultaneous Interpretation will be available in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
