The Meeting of the Heavy Oil Working Group will help to build and advance cooperation among regional partners, and serve as a forum for heavy oil stakeholders in the Americas to exchange information on best practices and technological innovation.

This meeting will bring together participants from government, industry and other relevant organizations to create and renew relationships. Representatives will be invited from Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, the United States, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela and will be asked to share experiences with heavy oil, update attendees on the current state of technology, and discuss other areas of mutual interest, such as environmental and policy issues involved with heavy oil development.
