Island Energy Transformation Training Series
Session 2: Approaches to identifying critical infrastructure and operational objectives
The Organization of American States and the U.S. Department of Energy, under the auspices of the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA), are pleased to announce the launch of the Island Energy Transformation Training Series to advance sustainable energy transitions in the Caribbean.
Organized by New Energy Events, the four-part training series for island policymakers, regulators, and senior utility executives is designed to provide critical insight into tools and methodologies developed by U.S. National Laboratories to support energy sector transformation.
The second of four virtual sessions in this series will take place on February 9, 2021, as part of the 2020 Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF), and will focus on approaches to identifying critical infrastructure and operational objectives.
Two additional virtual sessions in the series will feature: (1) requirements of robust procurement processes, and (2) finance elements to enhance the economic viability of projects.
During each session, participants will engage in practical exercises and/or discussions on governance, procurement, and financial considerations necessary to develop successful transformational energy sector strategies to power economic development in the Caribbean.
