Energy Transitions: Inspiring local energy compacts for global actions

The high-level dialogue on energy seeks to encourage the development of Energy Compacts in Panama and the Americas with the intention of inspiring climate action on a national scale.

Panama ́s Energy Transition Agenda unlocks an unprecedented process of technological, economic and social innovation. In the equation of sustainable development, energy transitions imply bringing modern energy services to those who do not have access to it; it is an opportunity to deliver quality of life improvements to the people.

Energy transition is the duty of all, but also an opportunity to establish, together, a common path to build a safe, sustainable, reliable and affordable energy sector, and to tear down the “sixth frontier” of poverty and inequality worldwide.

As global champion of SDGs through inclusive and just energy transitions, and chair of the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas, Panama supports countries, businesses, institutions and individuals striving to propel SDG7 achievements through tangible energy actions.
