Analysis and technologies for resilient power systems

As power systems increase their penetration of renewable generation, the need of balancing intermittency becomes critical. A proper identification of flexible features and services required to support the system is needed.  Flexibility provided by certain technologies is the key to unlock greater penetration of renewables and to ensure reliability of the system. Therefore, the entire integrated grid system shall be analyzed, and it should be favored as opposed to the common practice of looking to add generation assets with the lowest calculated LCOE.
