4th meeting of the Heavy Oil Working Group (HOWG) in Bogotá, Colombia

As announced during the 2nd meeting of the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas in Mérida, Mexico by the Honourable Greg Rickford, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, Canada will be hosting the 4th meeting of the Heavy Oil Working Group (HOWG) on September 22nd, 2015 in Bogotá, Colombia.

The meeting provides an opportunity to strengthen a collaborative network within the region and gain a greater understanding of the potential of heavy oil.

The 4th HOWG meeting has the following objectives:

• Exchange ideas about technological innovations in heavy oil transportation, upgrading, and refining;
• Share best practices for reducing heavy oil greenhouse gas emissions;
• Discuss environmental remediation processes; and
• Strengthen the regional relationship between HOWG members.

Please note that the 4th HOWG is anchored to the Heavy Oil Latin America (HOLA) Exhibition & Conference, which takes place at the Bogotá from September 23-25, 2015.
