ECPA Steering Committee launches preparatory process toward the 2017 ministerial

Looking forward to the third ECPA ministerial, governments in the Americas are gathering to further energy transformation in the Americas. The ECPA Steering Committee will convene two regional meetings in preparation for the high-level meeting in Chile.

On October 20, Miami will host the first meeting in preparation for the Third Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA) ministerial gathering. Chile will chair the meeting as the host of next year’s ministerial meeting. The one-day event will take place in sidelines of the Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF).

National Focal Points and other government representatives from OAS Member States will take stock of progress made since the last ministerial gathering in Merida in 2014, including the establishment of the Steering Committee and the development of the Partnership’s guiding principles and action plan. The meeting will further country engagement and participation, foster meaningful dialogue regarding ongoing and future initiatives, and provide guidance on thematic areas to be addressed at the ministerial gathering in 2017. The preparatory meeting will also offer a unique opportunity for private sector participation through the Americas Business Dialogue.
