The ECPA Energy Efficiency Working Group and MHE are organizing the workshop “Proposals for the Establishment of the New National Energy Efficiency Policy for the Plurinational State of Bolivia”, to be held on 23 and 24 of April, 2013 at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in La Paz. This event aims to support the Plurinational State of Bolivia in the establishment of a new national energy efficiency policy and the creation of an energy efficiency network that will contribute to its implementation through inter-sectorial dialogue. The Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Juan Jose Sosa, will chair the opening of the workshop.
Government specialists from Chile, Colombia and Mexico will share their experiences on the implementation of energy efficiency policies, while international and multilateral organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) and the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) will share alternatives to fund this effort. The workshop will consider several aspects of the new national energy efficiency policy, based on the outputs of the roundtable on financing of energy efficiency strategies and the dialogue on final uses of energy in the transport, industry, residential and urban settlements sectors, among others.
This workshop sponsored by ECPA is the result of the joint efforts of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the Organization of American States (OAS), through the Department of Sustainable Development of the Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI), which serves as Clearinghouse of this Alliance. The audience includes national and regional government representatives, civil society, academia and utilities.
