Under the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA), experts from the Department of Sustainable Development of the Organization of American States (OAS) will train entrepreneurs, government officials and students in Panama city in innovative methodologies closed loop cycle production and circular economy, intended to attract interest of employers in this innovative business vision and productivity. Workshop-Seminar “Closed Looped Cycle Production in the Americas: An innovative vision of productivity” will be held in Panama on September 16, 2014, and is organized in cooperation with the Union of Industrialists of Panama, National Center for Cleaner Production (NCPC) and the Technological University of Panama. This activity is part of the “Green Seal Panama Project: Applying Closed Loop Production towards a Circular Economy” under the framework of Closed Looped Cycle Production Program in the Americas (PCCA) funded by the Permanent Mission of the United States to the OAS, an initiative that aims to use renewable energy and energy efficiency, eliminating the use of toxic chemicals, and eliminate waste generation through intelligent design cycle of products and services, to improve the environmental performance and the productivity and competitiveness of enterprises including micro, small and medium (MSME) to facilitate the transition to a sustainable economy, competitive and circular.
The seminar-workshop will include the participation of qualified international experts on the subject and seek to introduce participants to different tools and methodologies that are part of the vision of the Closed Cycle Production. Additionally duringthis event a call for interested companies will be launched to participate in the “Pilot Program”, which consists of training and technical support by the experts to identify the potential for the company to close the Production Cycle of one of their products; the CLCP team will advised companies in preparing Closed Loop Production proposals to apply for funds available in the country or internationally, that will target the C2C certification of a Panamanian product.
