Ecuador will be the first country in Latin America and the Caribbean to obtain Cradle-to Cradle (C2C) certification

The Coordinating Ministry of Production, Employment and Competitiveness (MCPEC) and the Executive Secretary for Integral Development (SEDI) of the Organization of American States (OAS), through its Department of Sustainable Development (DSD) will host a ceremony for hand-over of the first CertifiedCMCradle to Cradle packaging product in Ecuador, and the Latin America and the Caribbean region. This event will take place next Tuesday, March 19 at the Radisson hotel in Quito.

The official Cradle to Cradle CertifiedCM mark under the Closed Looped Cycle Production in the Americas Initiative (CLCP in the Americas) will be awarded to the SME Batery Alimentos SA, which hosted the Cradle to Cradle Certified Products pilot project in the Food and Beverage sub-sector of Ecuador. Given the importane of this certification, the first to be issued in the region, this ceremony will bring together high ranking officials of the Government of Ecuador and international speakers.
