Making the Energy Transition Work for Everyone
This high-level dialogue will guide decision-makers on how to achieve a more inclusive energy future while accelerating disruptive energy technologies and policies to limit the temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
All countries in the Americas face their own unique challenges when it comes to defining strategies to address the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while meeting their commitments under the Paris Agreement. Linking regional cooperation to national goals can be an effective way to fast-track the energy transition.
Governments, businesses, institutions, and people are encouraged to advance actions that deliver affordable and clean energy to all by 2030 (SDG 7). This high-level energy dialogue supports efforts by the International Energy Agency and the International Renewable Energy Agency to
foster a human-centric clean energy transition, transform the global energy landscape, and create a pathway for the countries of the Americas to achieve their Paris Agreement goals.
