Caribbean Sustainable Energy Partner Coordination Platform
Caribbean Sustainable Energy Partner Coordination Platform
SEDI/DSD will assist the CARICOM Secretariat in implementing a mechanism to coordinate the technical, capacity building, policy, legislative and regulatory support required by the Caribbean nations to transition toward enhanced energy services. The OAS provides the ideal venue to deploy this mechanism comprised of technical and advisory bodies that will guide sustainable energy decision making in Caribbean member states. The project is based on the strategy advanced through C-SERMS, and provides the building blocks for the establishment of a coordination platform to be developed in concert with the main Caribbean donors and developing partners. The project will contribute to increase the efficiency and efficacy of donor, investor, and developer endeavors in order to advance adequate and appropriate energy governance and regulatory structures, leading to increased investments, private sector engagement, and infrastructure modernization.
