The Gender and Energy Forum for Latin America and the Caribbean: The Balance of Power

The Inter-American Development Bank is pleased to invite you to the Gender and Energy Forum for Latin America & the Caribbean. The forum will gather public and private sector leaders to promote gender equality and women’s participation across the energy sector value chain.

Gender equality issues in Latin America and the Caribbean span two key areas. First, women are significantly under-represented in the workforce and in leadership positions across the regional power sector. Second, women are adversely impacted by the lack of energy access. For both issues, what is the current landscape for gender equality across the region, and what actions, policies and programs can we implement to address the shortfall?

The Gender & Energy Forum will promote consensus, community as well as to accelerate a vital conversation about how to transform the energy sector and improve lives.

Forum objectives:

  • Share knowledge, experiences and stimulate innovative solutions to address the gender gap in the energy sector.
  • Create an action-oriented community of like-minded leaders from across the region.
  • Provide participants with tools and case-studies to support organizational change.
