XVIII Border Energy Forum United States-Mexico

The original idea for the Border Energy Forum was to gather 50 people each from the United States and Mexico once a year to exchange information about the best ways to produce and consume energy in our fast-growing region, forge new partnerships and help each other work together on our twin goals of economic development and environmental protection.

Although we have grown to an annual crowd of about 250, usually evenly divided between Americans and Mexicans, we have otherwise fulfilled that original concept to become a cornerstone of energy policy and program development for the region.

We have representatives from the federal governments of both Mexico and the United States, as well as state and local officials from both sides of the border. We have men and women from the private sector – energy producers and energy consumers – university professors, researchers and members of environmental groups. The Forum has now met in 9 of the 10 U.S. and Mexican border states.
