Climate Change Expert, Frank Lowenstein, to Visit Peru on Behalf of ECPA Senior Fellows

Washington, D.C., October 25, 2012 – Frank Lowenstein, a Senior Fellow in the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA), will be traveling October 28 through November 1, 2012 to participate in meetings and events in Lima including the InterCLIMA 2012 conference regarding climate change adaptation and risk management. ECPA Fellow Lowenstein works at The Nature Conservancy as the Climate Adaptation Strategy Leader.

ECPA Fellow Lowenstein’s expertise in strategic planning and communications focuses on the areas of climate adaptation, forest conservation, and the prevention of invasive species. During his exchange to Peru, Mr. Lowenstein will present at the InterClima 2012 conference on watersheds scale approaches to maintaining water while reducing the impact of flooding. In addition to meeting with NGOs and local stakeholders, Mr. Lowenstein will meet with representatives from the U.S. Embassy, USAID, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Municipality of Lima, and the Peruvian National Meteorology and Hydrology Service. Furthermore, the Regional Environmental Office will record an interview with Mr. Lowenstein on the best practices of climate change adaptation integration in South America. Finally, Mr. Lowenstein will present on the latest global research regarding the acceleration of climate change at the University Antonio Ruiz de Montoya and the University Alas Peruanas.
