Bioenergy Week

The Department of Sustainable Development of the OAS, through the Energy and
Climate Change Mitigation Section, and under the “US and Brazil Memorandum of
Understanding on Biofuels” framework, is co-hosting a capacity building activity titled
Bioenergy Week at the EMBRAPA Agroenergy headquarters, Brasilia, Brazil on March 18-
23, 2013.

This training activity has been made possible through the Biofuels Outreach in Support
of the Implementation of the U.S.-Brazil MOU for Biofuels Development program, funded
by the U.S. Department of State. The organization of this activity is also supported by
the Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP) and the Government of Brazil.
The purpose of the activity is to promote the sustainable use and development of
biofuels and to strengthen cooperation among participating countries through the
exchange of information on biofuel policies, regulatory frameworks, technologies, prices
and standards. The event will provide an ideal setting to analyze current and future
trends of the biofuel production technologies that will contribute to the advancement of
participants’ countries on this topic.
