Michigan State University to Hold First Primary Stakeholder Meeting for the ECPA initiative “Improving Access to Clean Energy in Rural Central America Using On-site Solar Bio-Power Generation”

Thursday, February 23, 2012

Michigan State University (MSU) is implementing the project “Improving Access to Clean Energy in Rural Central America Using On-site Solar Bio-Power Generation.” The project will develop and deploy an integrated, small-scale, self-sustained, waste-to-clean energy generation system that produces value-added by-products, such as fertilizers, and reclaims water.

The project’s first primary stakeholder meeting will be hosted in Costa Rica on March 8, 2012 to formally kick off activities in Central America and provide a networking opportunity for faculty, governmental agency staff, and the private sector. The MSU team will spend additional time in Costa Rica to work with University of Costa Rica staff on the microbial consortia study, portable system design and study abroad program development.
