IV International Conference of CIEMADeS – Electrical Interconnection in the Caribbean: Technical, Environmental, and Economic Aspects
This event of the International Center for Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development (CIEMADeS) will use a multi-disciplinary approach to describe and analyze the environmental and economic viability of the electrical interconnection of the Caribbean power systems and discuss its technical, environmental and economic aspects. In addition, the Conference will promote in-depth knowledge of the archipelago’s potential for energy source diversification and will foster the establishment of partnerships for further bilateral and multi-lateral technical and scientific collaboration amongst governments and institutions interested in the sustainable development of the Region.
To coordinate this event CIEMADeS has the cooperation of the Puerto Rico Energy Center – PREC. The Conference will focus on the following topics:

- Interconnectivity technology scenario and challenges
- Case studies of operational electrical interconnectivity
- Environmental and economic considerations
- Legal and political aspects
- Hazards and risk management
