An Energy Boost for Coffee

In Costa Rica, coffee is ingrained in the country’s culture and heritage. It also accounts for about 9 percent of national greenhouse gas emissions. A number of initiatives are underway to reduce the coffee industry’s carbon footprint and help Costa Rica reach its goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2021.
